Two editions of “Who’s On Stage?” in a single month, in Bucharest

“Who’s On Stage?” is a cultural concept that invites audiences to discover art in an unconventional way, through events held in locations kept secret until shortly before they begin.
Organized monthly in Bucharest, the project brings together unusual spaces, artists from diverse fields, and participants eager to explore cultural experiences different from the classic ones. Starting this year, the initiative also aims to expand to other cities in the country. The fifth edition of the event is scheduled for June 20.
How does this platform actually work? Participants register in advance (paying a participation fee) and receive clues along the way that gradually lead them to the prepared experience, without revealing all the details. Only on the day of the event are the location and special guests announced. Each edition can bring together artists from various creative fields, such as music, theater, dance, literature, film, visual arts, magic, or performance.
In short, “Who’s On Stage?” proposes a meeting with the unknown, where surprise and discovery become part of the cultural experience.
On June 13, the fourth edition of “Who’s On Stage?” took place, hosted in a location revealed to participants only shortly before the event: ICHIGO Garage – a multidisciplinary studio that hosts courses, workshops, exhibitions, and events, a space dedicated both to artistic practice and to connecting the local community. The venue emerged from the need for a place that brings together dance, visual arts, music, and community events under the same roof.
For nearly two hours, the audience was taken through an artistic journey built on surprises and unexpected encounters. The program included a live painting moment by artist Lavinia Fălcan, a classical music concert performed by the Soul Quartet, and a dance-theater performance by actress Cristina Tudor.
The next edition will take place on June 20 (Saturday), as part of the New Urban Habits festival (held between June 20–21 at the Mihai Eminescu Amphitheater): https://newurbanhabits.com. New Urban Habits brings together in Bucharest people who are actively changing the way cities function. Urban planners, architects, activists, researchers, artists, leaders from public administration and the private sector. Two days of conversations that truly matter.
In a world where cities face climate crises, inequality, and social fragmentation, answers do not come from a single office or a single discipline. They come from the intersection of bold ideas, proven practices, and engaged communities. This is exactly what New Urban Habits builds: a rare space where leaders from different fields meet, debate, and co-create solutions for a more people-centered Bucharest and other cities.
