Rock Monsters Romania

One of Romania’s most influential alternative rock bands, COMA, returns to Expirat on July 2 for a special Summer evening.

With a career lasting more than two decades, COMA has established itself as one of the biggest names of the Romanian alternative music scene. From their early days as pioneers of the country’s nu-metal movement to their evolution into a mature alternative metal and rock act, the band has remained true to its identity while continuously pushing its sound forward.

They are known for their intense live performances and authentic connection with audiences, which has earned them a devoted fanbase that continues to grow and adapt to their new songs by learning the lyrics to sing along with the band.

Opening the night are The Groovy Bastards, a Bucharest-based band known for their infectious energy and genre-blending sound. Mixing elements of funk, rock, progressive, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, the group has built a reputation for vibrant live performances and original compositions that refuse to be confined to a single style. As the band puts it: “It’s not rock; it’s not groove; it’s not funk; it’s all of these and what we want it to be.”

Over the years, The Groovy Bastards have collected numerous accolades, including awards at the Sibiu and Târgu Mureș Jazz Festivals, the title of “Revelation of the Year” at Muzza Festival, and first place at Constelații Rock in 2024.
