Celtic Transilvania Festival Opens Today at Băile Figa, Bringing Three Days of Music, History, and Community Spirit

Celtic Transilvania Festival officially opens today at Băile Figa, welcoming visitors for three days of concerts, historical reenactments, workshops, and cultural experiences as one of Romania’s most distinctive themed festivals returns for its ninth edition.
Running between July 10 and 12, the event marks the reunion of a community that has continued to grow around the festival over the years, transforming Celtic Transilvania from a music event into a destination built around shared experiences, alternative culture, and a strong sense of belonging.
Set against the natural backdrop of Băile Figa, the festival combines live music with Celtic traditions, interactive activities, and family-friendly programming. Organizers have prepared a diverse schedule featuring concerts, Celtic dance performances, spectacular demonstrations, ancient historical reenactments, creative workshops, and activities designed for both children and adults.
Beyond the festival grounds themselves, visitors can also enjoy the facilities of the nearby Băile Figa resort, often referred to as one of Transylvania’s hidden gems. The resort offers access to beaches, saltwater and freshwater pools, as well as therapeutic and wellness facilities that complement the festival experience.
The area’s unique historical heritage will also play an important role throughout the weekend. The archaeological salt mining site located near the festival grounds will be open to visitors, with specialists available to provide information and guided explanations about the site’s significance and history.
One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend remains the traditional motorcycle parade, scheduled for Saturday, July 11. The parade will follow the same route established during previous editions and has become one of the festival’s most recognizable traditions.
For many participants, however, Celtic Transilvania represents more than its program of concerts and activities. Over the years, the festival has developed a reputation for creating a strong community atmosphere, bringing together visitors from across Romania and abroad who return year after year.
Organizers describe the event as a place where music, nature, friendship, and freedom intersect, creating an experience that extends beyond the festival weekend itself. It is this sense of continuity and community that has helped establish Celtic Transilvania as one of Romania’s most beloved alternative cultural events.
Festival passes and day tickets remain available, allowing visitors to join the event throughout the weekend.
As the gates open today, Băile Figa once again becomes the meeting point for thousands of festivalgoers ready to celebrate music, creativity, and community spirit in a setting unlike any other in Romania.
