On October 18, 2026, Expirat will host the 10th edition of Munteanu Fest, the charity festival that turns Bogdan Munteanu’s birthday into an annual opportunity to do good. Celebrating this milestone edition, the event continues a tradition that began in 2016, bringing together artists, friends and audiences around a social cause.

This year’s edition is dedicated to the “Niciodată Singur” Association, which supports older people and promotes a society in which ageing does not mean loneliness and isolation.

Loneliness is one of the most powerful human fears and one of the least discussed. It knows no boundaries of age, ethnicity, income, education or musical taste. It can affect any of us. In Romania, however, older people are among those most affected. Three out of five older people living in Romanian cities experience loneliness. Meanwhile, one in four seniors ends up speaking to no more than one person over the course of a month, according to a study conducted by Kantar Romania in 2025.

For the past 10 years, the “Niciodată Singur” Association has supported older people in Romania who are increasingly affected by loneliness and social isolation. The association brings people together, visits seniors, offers them new opportunities for socialising and learning, and builds a space of trust where they can rediscover their zest for life.

“The joy of celebrating your birthday comes from having people close to you. For many of the seniors we meet, it is precisely this closeness that is missing: the joy of having someone who listens to them, visits them and is happy to see them. Bogdan and everyone who joins Munteanu Fest help us build these lasting connections. I thank them for making room in their celebrations for the cause of lonely older people, too. Together, we can give them more days when they have someone to smile with, someone to share their stories with, and visits to look forward to.” said Valentin Georgescu, Executive Director of the Niciodată Singur Association.

The Munteanu Fest 2026 lineup brings together a group of artists who are supporting the charity initiative and will perform pro bono at the event, taking turns on the stage at Expirat: Andrei Ursu, Eligarf, Cristina Lupu, Raluca Radu, Gilda and DJ Cristache.

The event starts at 19:00.

Since its first edition in 2016, Munteanu Fest has grown from a birthday party into an annual charity project built around community and the desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

“I organise cultural and music events throughout the year, but every October I want to organise an event dedicated to a worthy cause. Over the years, I have chosen to support different associations and causes because I want to help as many people as possible. For ten years, I have brought wonderful people together to celebrate my birthday, and they have chosen to turn their gifts to me into donations for those who need support. I am happy to have reached this anniversary edition and that this year we can contribute to the efforts of the Niciodată Singur Association to support older people experiencing loneliness.” said Bogdan Munteanu, organiser of Munteanu Fest.
