Fontaines D.C. Announced as the First Headliner for Summer Well 2027
The Irish band filling arenas across Europe will perform in Romania for the first time.
Few bands have had a year like Fontaines D.C. Their album “Dopamine Chamber” is already being hailed by critics as a masterpiece, their European tours are selling out, and they have collaborated on a track with Rosalía.
In August 2027, the Irish band will perform in Romania for the first time as a headliner at Summer Well. The festival will take place from August 13 to 15, 2027, at Știrbey Estate in Buftea.
With “Romance,” the band expanded its sound to embrace shoegaze, pop, and even nu metal, while tracks such as “Starburster” and “Favourite” broke into the mainstream. And if “Starburster” sounds familiar from the opening credits of the series MobLand, yes, that is them.
Fontaines D.C. are now entering a new chapter with “Dopamine Chamber,” their fifth album, which went straight into the UK charts. Released on October 16, 2026, the record ventures further into electronic territory, with influences reminiscent of Depeche Mode and The Cure. Rosalía features on the track “Where Is Gone?”, while the album’s lead single, “Marianne,” entered the UK Top 20. Critics have been unanimous in their praise:

Their success is just as evident on stage. In summer 2027, Fontaines D.C. will play two shows at Slane Castle in Ireland, which holds 80,000 people per night, becoming only the third Irish band to headline the iconic venue. Their tour will also include two nights at Heaton Park in Manchester, with 80,000 people per night, a show at London Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000, and numerous sold out dates across Europe.
Next summer, we will see them at Summer Well in Romania.
Fontaines D.C. continue Summer Well’s tradition of bringing major headliners to the festival, following this summer’s Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds concert, which generated widespread attention.
Fan Tickets Available Now
Tickets are available at summerwell.ro and through the festival’s ticketing partners, Entertix, Iabilet, and Easytickets. A limited number of Fan Tickets are available for RON 455 plus fees. Once these tickets sell out, the price will increase to RON 495 plus fees, also for a limited allocation.
