Călușul Poetic Cultural Association Announces the First Edition of Its Mini Festival
Călușul Poetic Cultural Association is organizing the first edition of the mini festival “Călușul Scenei Locale” on November 1 at Forge.
The lineup for the evening features: 4KC, Giardia, Balozaibăr, and Weedeye.
4KC hail from somewhere unknown, but call Bucharest’s Sector 2 home. They describe themselves as “fake punk,” but sing about social issues such as the lack of hot water and suddenly losing your job. In June, they released their debut album, Sentința Capitală.
Giardia are described as a groove and thrash band. They bring a heavy metal edge to any lineup, along with a carefree, couldn’t care less attitude that contrasts with their highly developed instrumental sound. Their debut album, Vol. 1.l, was released last year.
Balozaibăr are the youngest band on the lineup in terms of age, not discography. With a garage punk sound and a prolific creative streak, they have released an EP, followed this autumn by the album Pe trecere în pijamale. And yes, they really do perform in their pajamas.
Weedeye are a recent addition to the scene, brought together around the Controverse Conspirații artistic collective. Several members were previously part of Taraful CORVOADA and have also taken part in the jam sessions regularly organized by the CC collective, part sect, part circus, mostly at Interbelic, but not exclusively. They perform both original songs and covers, with stoner and sludge rock providing the common thread.
